A secretive church has been linked to about half South Korea’s coronavirus cases. The Shincheonji Church of Jesus was thrust into the global spotlight after infections were first confirmed among worshippers in the southern city of Daegu. Founded in 1984, the sect has about 215,000 followers in South Korea and more overseas, according to media estimates.
