Exodus 12:1-3
John 1:29-36
John 6:35
Intimacy: close familiarity or friendship; closeness.
And then you say how can we do that?
A: The same way you get intimate with a spouse or friend.
1. You talk to them regularly (prayer),
2. you give them opportunity to talk back (that is reading and meditation)
3. and you devote yourself the things that they like and prefer (study of the Word).
John 6:36-39
John 16:9-14
Luke 5:1-3
How they met
Jesus walked into his life. Knocked on his door, gave a command, Peter opened to the Lord or obeyed the initial command, and Jesus came in and supped with him, or in this case sat down in his ship and taught.
Luke 5:4-10
Just like any ordinary relationship. A man will try to do something or buy something that amazes the woman, and when she amazed what we do fellas? We front, and say ‘oh what that, ah that ain’t nothing, it more where that came from, that’s just a taste, that’s just a small token of my love’. Luke 5:11
They followed Him. Jesus continued His journey, and Peter, James, and John, began their journey by following Him.
And this goes back to us. We need to build our relationship with this lamb.
On the 10th day of the 1st month, we begin to We need to build our relationship with this lamb, so that after the Passover we can follow Him. And truly our intentions are to become Apostles or fishers of men.
Exodus 12:3-6
So if you separate out the lamb on the 10th day.
We know that God’s 24-hour period that we call days starts in the evening. That is y this show happened in the evening rather than in the daytime. Even though there was no commandment about the evening, this is when you would be deciding the lamb.
We also know that in America, we call the period of time within a 24-hour day when it is light outside is called day.
Now Im saying that so we can keep that in mind as we count here.
So, if you put up the lamb on the 10th day of the month; it doesn’t tell you when, but remember, it has to be inspected. Maybe you choose one then find a blemish in him, so you take it back to the flock and choose another one. This process could theoretically take a few hours.
So before you sleep on the 10th day you have chosen the lamb to put up. Now in the morning you re-examine him and begin to build that relationship with him. So you are technically keeping the lamb up for half of the tenth day after it was chosen; the lamb is up for the full 11th day; it is up for the full 12th day and up for the full 13th day.
And as soon as the 14th day comes in the evening you kill it. So from the middle of the 10th day until the 14th day you are chilling with this lamb. And how much time is that? 3 full days and one half day.
So to recap:
The process of the Passover begins on the 10day of the 1st month, which began when this service began.
Spiritually it points to us choosing the lamb of God, and inspecting His claims and His life, and becoming close to Him and His ministry. This we do, and this He did for 3.5 years and we symbolically do this for 3.5 days until at the end of both the 3.5 years in the physical and 3.5 days symbolically the Passover is sacrificed for us!
So what should we be doing on the 10th day and leading up to Passover?
You should be reading the gospels and or specific prophesies about the lamb of God. Like I said inspecting His claims. Like what Jesus claimed over your life… That lonely feeling you get when you’re under quarantine. But Jesus claimed that He will never leave you nor forsake you!
The Bible calls Jesus king of Israel. Most people who are watching this service know that they are Israel or are spiritual Israel because they do what Israel does. Therefore, Jesus is our king. But they say cash is king; in a quarantine with nothing to do, sometimes it feels like our belly is king, but no Jesus is king!
In Mark 2 verse 10 Jesus claims to be able to forgive sin. For the next 3 days you should be reading about why you shouldn’t walk around with guilt and regret on your back. This lamb is going to take all that weight off of you on the 14th day!
In John 5:22 Jesus claimed that all judgement has been committed to him. For the next 3.5 days you should be reading and meditating on why you shouldn’t be condemning yourself to death or the lake of fire because of your past sins against yourself or against someone else. Even if they haven’t forgiven you, you can ask God for forgiveness in Jesus name!
