‘Imbecile’ backpackers who think ‘they’re invincible’ flout social distancing rules

As backpackers across the country actively flout the social distancing regulations, Sky News contributor Caleb Bond says the “law needs to come down on people who willingly and recklessly could be spreading this disease”.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting backpackers at Bondi Beach and Kings Cross “have again been caught flouting social distancing rules and putting the lives of NSW residents at risk due to their uncaring attitudes”.

“Why do these foreign backpackers think that they’re somehow invincible, that they’re not going to catch coronavirus, or they’re not going to spread coronavirus,” Mr Bond said.

Mr Bond told Sky News host Peter Gleeson he would call these people “morons, dunder plunkers, and useless” because their reckless actions could spread the virus which “leads to the death of innocent people”.

“The $11,000 fines that New South Wales has instituted this week for people who’ve disobeyed these rules are needed for people like this”.

Fellow panelist and Queensland Shadow Tourism Minister David Crisafulli said these backpackers are “imbeciles; they’re idiots”
