Crazy video captures the moment a buttload of crazed customers wipe the shelves clean of a fresh supply of toilet rolls at an Aldi store in Melbourne, Australia, amid the coronavirus crisis, according to news.com.au.
The clip, which has garnered more than 740,000 views, drew widespread ridicule online.
“Do these people have a 20 person household … why would you need any more than one pack of toilet rolls … bloody embarrassing,” one person wrote, according to the news outlet.
Another described the “ironic circle of hysteria.”
“The thing is that 80 per cent of these people aren’t stocking up on toilet paper because of the coronavirus, they’re rushing to buy toilet paper because they’re scared of not having toilet paper themselves because of the people panicking over the coronavirus,” the person said.
Aldi, Woolworths and Coles have limited the amount of toilet paper supplies for each customer to one pack, down from four, according to news.com.au.
